Wesley Clark: One of his better speeches. Surprisingly, the crowd seemed very much into what he was saying. He had their attention...held their attention. Lots of rhetoric....nothing about what Kerry has done in his years in the Senate...promises for the future...but nothing about his record. No surprise there. But a decent speech. B-
Joe Leiberman: old school speech with that long trailing off of words...like there's no knowledge the speaker is using a microphone. Not a great speech. Just think, he could've been the Veep. C-
Nancy Pelosi: She talks to people like they're second graders...talk-ing...slow-ly...so...I can...under-stand. Irritating. C
Willie Nelson: always love hearing Willie...even with a big swaying choir behind him. B (because of the choir).
Madeleine Albright: I love when Madeleine Albright talks about the dangers facing America...dangers that we wouldn't be facing if she'd done her job. And I love when she talks about how important it is to have someone who served in the armed services as president when she didn't believe that when she served under Clinton. She's a bitter woman for some reason. What really disappointed me was that she didn't make the announcement that she assured us would be made during the Democratic Convention: she said that the President already has Osama bin Laden and was waiting to announce it until the convention. Because she failed to make that announcement and because she is bitter and mean, I will give her a D.
Max Cleland: passionate...sincere...I am not going to fault someone for their opinion when they have been through as much as Max Cleland has been through just because I disagree with him. It was a nice speech. B
John Kerry: no question it was too long a speech. I like the part about 'honor thy father and mother'...that's one of the ten commandments....it's kindof near the one that says 'thou shalt not kill'...he didn't mention that one. I wonder if anyone cares or noticed how much he was sweating...that surprises me that they wouldn't have the center cool enough to be prepared for that. Probably shouldn't matter...but it could (just ask the people who worked on the Nixon campaign). It was a good speech. Maybe my disagreement with the content keeps me from seeing it's greatness (if it was great). I will give it a B-.
