Madam President...er Vice President
I can't see it happening...BUT...there is more out today that Madam Hillary might be the choice for John Kerry's Veep.
Like I said, I don't see much upside for Hillary...why be a part of a losing ticket if it loses. And if they win, she's stuck for eight years before she can be president (unless, of course, some tragedy should befall this JFK...but that could never happen).
I have my own theory about all this that I just might share this afternoon.
Your thoughts about Madam Veep?

The Texas state Republican Party is being urged to remove reference in it's platform of America as a 'Christian Nation.'

Sadly, 13-year-old Mattie Stepanek has died. Sadder still to liberals, we don't yet live in a world where we can all agree he should've been aborted to save him from this life he had to live. Sure he did much good in his brief life, but after 3 older siblings died from the same disease, wouldn't it have been better for society to save him from all this by killing him in the womb? I mean, really, what kind of quality of life could a child like that have? (It's stark when you use The Left's logic, isn't it?)
John Kerry did a rare and amazing thing...he showed up in the Senate for a vote.

Scott's Five Questions
Here are the five questions that I believe could save America. Answer these questions honestly...memorize them...ask them of your friends:
1. Do you believe there are people in the world who want to destroy our country and our way of life?
2. Do you believe they would do it if they could?
3. Do you believe they can be stopped?
4. Do you want them to be stopped?
5. Who do you think is more capable and willing to stop those who seek to destroy us: John Kerry or George W. Bush?
Answers to those questions will tell you alot. I believe the answer to each of them is obvious.

Bill Clinton Failed
If you watched the interview on 60 Minutes, when Bill Clinton mentions that they tried to get to bin Laden and in fact that he had signed an order for lethal force to be used against bin Laden and his henchment...isn't the story here that 'he failed?'
Wouldn't that be the story if the interview were with a Republican former president?
Isn't the story that, perhaps, if Bill had had his mind in the game, he might have done a better job in 1998 in protecting America, killing bin Laden, and maybe keeping 9/11 from ever happening?
Isn't it right to include in the body count all the people that died on Sept. 11 in addition to those who have died in the war....and shouldn't that be (using Maureen Dowd's logic) laid at the feet of President Clinton, not President Bush?

President Reagan's National Funeral
WOW...I thought it was wonderful. Were you as surprised as I was (pleasantly) how overtly Christian the service was....actually both services....the one in DC and the one at the Reagan Library.
All the songs played in the evening service were all the songs I learned by singing them at Sunday night church....all the verses...all of a sudden I was a ten year old boy again at Sunday night church.

You might have heard me talk about the one thing that has been missing as people are honoring the memory of Rondald Reagan. People talk about his being a man of convictions, that he was the eternal optimist, and they talk about his ability to communicate. What they have not acknowledged is what I believe to be the real reason there will be such a huge Reagan Legacy. That missing element is that while Ronald Reagan was all those other things, he was also RIGHT. Our friend Hugh Hewitt writes about that today.

Mourning in America
We knew it was going to happen...why does it still take us by surprise? I was saddened to learn of the very poor health yesterday morning of Ronald Reagan.
I went to see my boys play their baseball game...went about the day...but there was a part of me that waited for and dreaded the news that I believed would come.
When we sat down to eat, we prayed for the safety of our current president...and comfort for the family of the 40th president.
And it appears (at least for a moment) that we are not alone in having good things to say about President Reagan.
It's amazing all the people wanting to claim their admiration for the former president...weren't these the same people who championed the CBS mini-series maligning the good name of Ronald Reagan just 6 months ago?
And aren't these the same people who want us to believe that all societies are the same...none is superior...and yet they celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Normandy invasion.
President Reagan in his 1984 address at Pointe du Hoc for the 40th anniversary of D-Day reminded us that there are things worth fighting for and worth dying for. That freedom and democracy are worth dying for.
The same elites who appear to celebrate the sacrifices of these patriots who risked (and many paid with) their lives, are the people who suggest that America is no better than other countries...how wrong it is for us to even suggest superiority.
If they believe that freedom and democracy are not superior, wouldn't the people who die for a lie be reasonably by them called 'fools' and not heroes?
Such is the complicated world of the double-minded man.
