Assigned Reading (30 June 2004)

Any time you see Nina Shea's name on something, read it. She has been out front on persecution issues for a long time. Sadly, the rest of us still haven't caught up with her.

Marriage Battle piece by Rebecca Hagelin.

Madam President...er Vice President

I can't see it happening...BUT...there is more out today that Madam Hillary might be the choice for John Kerry's Veep.

Like I said, I don't see much upside for Hillary...why be a part of a losing ticket if it loses. And if they win, she's stuck for eight years before she can be president (unless, of course, some tragedy should befall this JFK...but that could never happen).

I have my own theory about all this that I just might share this afternoon.

Your thoughts about Madam Veep?

American...Christian nation?

The Texas state Republican Party is being urged to remove reference in it's platform of America as a 'Christian Nation.'

Should they?

[You have heard me talk about Samuel P. Huntington before (his new book is Who Are We? about American Culture...I am reading it now)]
